Tried multiple times like someone else recommended. One of which I was able to see our VIN Toolbox knows not Mazda NAV card. Looked at card on PC and I can see a new folder and file. Nope, as expected, but was hoping for otherwise. I tried that, Mazda Toolbox is happy and recognizes the backup, but the car does not, I cannot get the Nav to work with a backup locked to the car VIN. A tutorial video on how to update your NAV SD Card and maps for your Mazda equipped with the Mazda Connect Infotainment System (Most 2014 models and up. After 145 miles on the new OEM NAV card tried to update with Mazda Toolbox. That's fine, I still have the original raw image and can restore it to the original card.įrom what I read I can use Mazda Update Toolbox to update the maps, which I did and worked, and I can also take a backup and restore it on a different SD card that should work in my car (the backup is also locked to the car VIN). I let the card activate and now it's locked to the car's VIN. If that dont work, probably better to contact mazdas customer support and see if they can send you the update file directly. Assuming your copy of the sd card is valid/official, try again in a few hours. To remove the card, simply push down to release the spring-loaded lock. Http 500 status code means something on mazdas server (where the update gets data from) is having issues. Once it drops into the slot, youll need to push down a small way to engage the spring-loaded lock. If it doesnt slide most of the way in easily, flip it over. I have not tried a 32GB card but it does not matter because it would not work before activation because the card must have the right CID. As far as installing it, you plug the SD card into the slot, and thats pretty much it. 3) Open a command shell with administration privs and go to the directory of where the original MazdaUpdateToolbox was. Win10 it is located in the APPDATA directory. The original card size is 16.2GB, any 16GB sd card you buy is around 15.5GB so the raw image won't fit. You can always for free, download Mazda update Toolbox to your PC, and create yourself as a user, then the SD is taken from the car and insert in PC and updated to the latest version at all times for the next 3 years, all for free, and you can even make your own backup copy of SD. 1) Copy the MazdaUpdateToolbox directory to a different drive. My spare SD card is larger than the Mazda card. Before I put it in the car, I took a full image (using Linux dd) thinking I could just write the image to a different SD card and keep the original safe. I always backup to my spare SD card and check it verifies in Mazda Toolbox and works in the car.
